This is me covering two of my favorite They Might Be Giants songs. I made my own instrumental
backings for this.
I always got that this song was about horrible things...and the only good thing that happens is when he's not around (at home). And the doctor, the waitress, and the fireman are the suspects of a murder, and only one of them is the "nut with a gun", but there's enough of them so they'll never figure out who really did it. When it rains it snows is like saying when you think you need a raincoat, you really need a friggin snow shovel, gloves, and winter coat! LOL!

What are the chances that you like TMBG AND The Avett Brothers??!! ME too! - Sorry, LOVE both bands. This video really showcases how talented this band is, musically lyrically and vocally. Very nice & thx so much for posting - this really brings me back - i have an Old VHS tape from '87 - I was recording Nick Rocks on Nickolodeon - TMBG hosted and sang a few acoustic like this, including "Cowtown" and "The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas" - vid is priceless, should prolly dig it up.
